Hambur-Gyu Smash Burger

Wagyu Patty, Caramelized Onions, Pickles, Ketchup, Mustard, House Sauce, Potato Buns. $9 (double with cheese)

This was the first time that we have ever had burgers and fries delivered. It was not the best experience having our food travel in someone else’s car for 30 minutes before it arrived and we sat down to eat. But Hambur-Gyu is only available via deliver or pickup. There is no restaurant to sit down and eat in. Next time, we’ll probably pick food up and eat in the parking lot. Not the best dining experience, but better than soggy fries and buns.

Their smash burger did taste good, even though it wasn’t super fresh. It is comparable to Hi-Ho Cheeseburger, which is another similarly dressed burger that we enjoy. Solid smash burger. The better option from Hambur-Gyu is their Chicken Sandwich (Panko Corn Flake Fried Chicken Breast, Coleslaw, Pickles, Dijon Mustard Mayo, Tonkatsu Sauce, Potato Buns). It is really a great katsu sando (IYKYK)!

I was not always a yoga teacher. I graduated from UCLA and worked for over 12 years in the corporate world, including 7 years at Verizon Wireless. In 2001, I sustained a shoulder injury in the gym. As an alternative to lifting weights, I decided to try yoga. After one class, I realized that yoga offered much more than just a great workout. I migrated out of the gym and into local yoga studios. Yoga became my primary training for body, mind, and spirit.

In my first year of practice, I studied a variety of different yoga styles. I discovered Anusara Yoga in 2003 and decided to dedicate myself to this heart-opening practice. Anusara Yoga blends a life-affirming Tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment and a celebration of community. I started teaching yoga in 2006 and became a Certified Anusara Teacher in 2010.

I am also a ‘certified’ geek. I love science fiction, superheroes, comic books, video games, Star Wars, and Spider-Man. I am not a vegetarian. I don’t drive a Prius. I like burgers, whiskey, weight training, and climbing. I sometimes miss the corporate world. I am really just a regular guy, who loves to practice and teach yoga. I believe that there is a hero in all of us and yoga can unleash the full potential of the super spirit within! In my teaching, I strive to be creative and fun, helping students take their practices off of the mat and into their daily lives.
