Elements (60 minutes) - Class 4
Elements Classes focus on the fundamental poses and principles of yoga. Each one hour session is a full practice intended to strengthen and stretch the major muscles of the body. Elements Classes intentionally cycle through key yoga poses for a well-rounded practice. Each class has a specific alignment focus.
If you practice once per week, then take class #1 one week, then class #2 the next week, and so on. If you practice twice per week, then do classes #1 and #2 one week, #3 and #4 on week two, and #5 and #6 on week three and then repeat. If you practice daily, I encourage you to do one class per day, in the numbered order of the classes. The intention is do all of the classes, repeat them regularly, and become more and more familiar with the fundamental poses of yoga.
All classes include a warm-up, standing poses, standing balance poses, shoulder openers, arm balances or inversions, hip openers, backbends, twists, and forward bends, followed by savasana.
Elements Class #4 focuses on a secondary energy in the legs, referred to as "inner spiral". Poses include several twists, side plank pose, and supine cool-down poses.
